   The Training Center of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House of the National Ancient Books Restoration Technology Center Established
 

  On Dec 27, 2016, the opening ceremony of the Training Center of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House of the National Ancient Books Restoration Technology Center was hold in Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House. Xu Xiaoyue, director of Nanjing Library, Quan Qin, deputy director of Nanjing Library and director of Jiangsu Ancient Books Restoration Center, Wang Yanxing, deputy director of executive office of National Ancient Books Restoration Center and Ji Qin, deputy director of Municipal Bureau of Religious Affairs attended the opening ceremony. Zhuang Xiufen, director of executive office of National Ancient Books Restoration Center, read out the approval document about the establishment of the Training Center of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House of the National Ancient Books Restoration Center. Yu Zhibing, director of Public Culture Department of Press and Publication Bureau of Culture, Radio & Television, Dai Wei, associate consultant of Municipal Bureau of Religious Affairs, Jiao Xiang, Party Branch Secretary of Jinling Library attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided by Chen Zhiguo, deputy director of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House.

  Wang Honglei, assistant of office director of Nantional Ancient Books Restoration Center, Quan Qin, deputy director of Nanjing Library and director of Jiangsu Ancient Books Restoration Center, and Xiao Yongming, evecutive deputy director of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House made speeches seperately. Wang Honglei said, the Training Center of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House is the twenty-third training center that National Ancient Books Restoration Center established. As the place of Buddhist studies, lectures and engraving Buddhist scriptures, Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House made great efforts on the Buddhist revival in modern China. Ma Mengqing, the nineteenth tutor hired by National Ancient Books Restoration Center, hoped Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House could train more professional talents from and make more efforts on the inheritance and promoting of the Chinese traditional culture. Quan Qin said, Jiangsu is a great province in ancient books protection with large numbers and varieties of ancient books. Since last year, Jiangsu began to actively promote the protection and the arrangement of religious texts, and achieved some results. There are two training centers established by National Ancient Books Restoration Center in Jiangsu Province, and one is the Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House. There are interactions and cooperations between Nanjing Library and Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House all the time. It is believed that the two units will make persistent efforts after the establishment of the training center to do better work in ancient book protection. Xiao Yongming firstly expressed thanks for the arrival of the leaders and guests. Then he affirmed the significance of the establishment of the Training Center of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House of the National Ancient Books Restoration Center. He said, it will create conditions for the Chinese engraving skill, which is a human intangible cultural heritage, to play a positive role in developing and expanding the Chinese traditional culture.

  At last, Deng Qingzhi, the training assistant of the Training Center of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House, spoke on behalf of the non-material cultural heritage inheritors. He said they will make every efforts and work together to inherit Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing skill better. Wang Yanxing, deputy director of National Ancient Books Restoration Office and Gu Xiaorong, inspector of Press and Publication Bureau of Culture, Radio & Television issued the letter of appointment to Ma Mengqing, training teacher of the Training Center of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House and Deng Qingzhi, assistant of training teacher of the Training Center of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House separately.

    Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House collected about 125,000 pieces of Buddhist Scriptures and Buddhist Editions from Qing Dynasty. It’s the largest collection center of Buddhist Scriptures and Buddhist Editions in Chinese woodcut. In addition, it collected many versions of scriptures, such as Puhui Zang, Long Zang, Jiangxing Zang and so on, which is a treasure of Buddhist culture. In 2013, it was listed as a key national heritage conservation unit. The establishment of the Training Center of Jinling Buddhist Scriptures Publishing House will be good for further protection and development of Jinling Buddhist scriptures publishing and printing skill. In addition, it will better promote the ancient civilization to pass down continuously.
